Project Highlights
Macedonia Oslomej1 11.8MW Solar Park, the first large-scale PV project in North Macedonia, is built alongside a coal-fired power plant and consists of 33,750 ASTRO modules. The project is expected to produce nearly 15,000 MWh per year, equivalent to the electricity consumption of 2,800 households.
North Macedonia is a country heavily dependent on coal, and it faces severe air pollution. With the support of the European Union, this project sets an example of decarbonization and transition to renewable energy in Macedonia. The government has claimed that the coal phaseout and the switch to renewable energy would be completed within a decade, achieving a climate-neutral economy by 2040.
