Project Highlights

Located in St Lucia, Brisbane, Queensland, Australia, this project represents a landmark C&I distributed solar milestone that seamlessly integrates clean energy with heritage preservation. The project owner, Emmanuel College, is a prominent residential college within the prestigious University of Queensland (UQ). In alignment with its sustainability commitment to reducing the campus carbon footprint, the College partnered with DS Energy, to install a solar PV system across its historic heritage building rooftops. Construction commenced in December 2024, and the system was officially activated on August 22, 2025.

Astronergy custom-supplied 574 units of its high-efficiency CHSM60N(DG)/F-HC 480W n-type bifacial double-glass modules for this installation, delivering a total capacity of 279 kW. Given that heritage campus structures demand stringent roof-load protection, structural integrity, and aesthetic harmony, Astronergy’s high-power-density modules maximized energy yield while minimizing the required roof footprint. Since its commissioning, the project has generated an average annual power output of approximately 387.7 MWh, offsetting 262.96 tonnes of carbon emissions. The successful deployment not only infuses green power into a century-old institution but also establishes an exemplary benchmark for the decarbonization of heritage assets worldwide.
